An indoor outing works best when the activity fits the people coming along. At Fort Rock in Fort Myers, you can choose imaginative playground play or the challenge of indoor climbing. Start with what your group wants to do, then build the visit around that choice.
Choose the experience that fits your group
Fort Rock brings two experiences together in a 10,000-square-foot facility: half climbing center and half indoor playground. Adventures suits children who want to explore and play; the climbing center offers routes that turn movement into a personal challenge. These experiences have separate admissions, so make your selection before buying a pass.
Ask everyone one question: would you rather invent your own adventure or work toward a climb? A clear first choice is more useful than trying to fit every possible activity into one visit. If your group has different interests, discuss adult supervision and timing before planning both.
Picture a playground visit
Fort Rock Adventures includes a three-level playground and places for imaginative play, including Kids Village. Regular admission is a two-hour session, with parents and guardians entering the playground free. Explore the attraction photos with your child to discover what catches their attention.
Treat the session as room to explore at your child's pace. You do not need a checklist of attractions. A child who spends much of the visit on one favorite activity can still have exactly the afternoon they wanted.
Picture a climbing visit
If your group wants to try climbing, begin with the first-visit guide. Fort Rock offers auto-belay climbing, top-rope climbing, and bouldering, with different instruction requirements. Staff orientation is the starting point for auto-belays; ask the team which activity fits your experience.
Give first-timers a simple goal, such as learning how the activity works and trying a suitable route. You can decide afterward whether climbing belongs in your regular routine.
Turn the idea into a plan
