Use your Step Up funds
for PE they love.
Fort Rock is an approved Step Up For Students provider. Bring your student in to climb and play whenever it suits your week, with an instructor alongside them, paid from your student’s scholarship account. A coached group program with other homeschool kids is coming soon.
Physical education is a recognized use of Personalized Education Program funds, and Fort Rock is an approved provider. Climbing and playground time with us can be paid from your student’s account rather than out of pocket.
In your EMA account, search Find Providers for BBN Property Management LLC. That is the company name on the listing, and it comes up as Fort Rock Climbing Center & Kids Adventure, which is us. Pick whichever option below suits your family from there.
Our approved rate is $30 an hour with a two-hour minimum, the same on the climbing side and in the kids’ gym. That is instructor-led time, not general admission: a member of our team works with your student for the whole visit, which is what makes it physical education rather than an afternoon out.
Your scholarship funding organization approves each purchase, so keep your receipt. Families not using a scholarship are welcome to book the same instructor-led time, or just come in on regular admission.
No wrong answer
Instructor-led visits are open now, any day we are open. A coached group program is on the way for families who want a set class on the calendar. Ask to be notified and we will tell you when it opens.
Every student needs a completed waiver before the first visit, and it is quicker to do it online than at the desk. Co-ops and homeschool groups are welcome: call and we will set aside a time for your group.
What they get out of it
Climbing and active play build what a PE class is meant to build, and children are too busy to notice they are working at it.
Climbing works the whole body. The three-level playground structure keeps younger children moving for the whole visit without anyone telling them to.
Pick a route, try a move, get it on the third attempt. Children leave having done something they could not do when they walked in.
Open visits are where homeschool families keep running into each other, and the group program on the way will put students with others their age.

Because it is not the same thing. Regular admission buys a play session. The $30 an hour rate buys instructor-led time, with a member of our team working with your student for the whole visit. That is what makes it physical education, and it is the rate Step Up approved us for.

Any school-age student. The kids' gym suits roughly ages 5 to 8, and the climbing walls work from about 9 right the way up through the teens. Plenty of students use both. Tell us your student's age and we will point you to the right side of the building.
A completed waiver for every student, and non-slip socks for the playground. Climbing shoes and harnesses are here. Come a few minutes early and someone will walk you through it.
