Camp field trips in Fort Myers

The field trip
campers ask for.

Summer camps, school break camps and youth organizations need a trip that works in the Florida heat, keeps a big group busy and runs to a schedule. An indoor, air conditioned climbing gym does all three.

Fort Rock hosts camps, YMCA and parks and rec programs, after-school programs and youth organizations. Staff run the orientation and the walls, and the session has a clear start and finish, so the bus schedule works.

Both sides of the building take groups. The climbing center suits school-age campers through teens, and the indoor playground suits younger campers, so a mixed-age camp can split between the two.

Planning for summer? Camps fill their trip calendars early, so it is worth getting your dates in during the spring.

01

Indoors and cool

All indoors and air conditioned, rain or shine, which matters in a Florida summer.

02

Built for big groups

Group sessions are set up for your numbers, with one orientation for everyone rather than one family at a time.

03

Something for every age

Climbing walls for older campers and the indoor playground for younger ones, under one roof.

What it costs

One price
per climber.

$25 per climber per hour, with a 10-climber minimum. A group session normally runs two hours, and staff instruction, harnesses and climbing shoes are included.

Climbers under 14 need an adult with them, so plan your counselor numbers with that in mind. For playground groups, call the playground line at (239) 922-7158.

The climbing center is open Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday 11am to 10pm, Saturday 9am to 10pm and Sunday 9am to 6pm.

How booking works

Three steps
to trip day.

01

Send us the basics

Your group’s name, a contact, how many are coming, their ages and the date you have in mind. You will get a straight answer and a quote.

02

Waivers before the day

Every climber needs a waiver, signed by a parent or guardian for anyone under 18. Doing them online beforehand keeps check-in quick.

03

Arrive 15 minutes early

That covers check-in and gear. Staff then run one orientation for the whole group before anyone goes up.

Before you come

Quick
answers.

Anything else, just call. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Ask the team
Can you take a large camp?

Tell us your numbers and ages. Larger camps can be split into groups or across both sides of the building.

How do waivers work for campers?

Every camper needs a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Send the link home with your trip permission forms.

What should campers wear?

Clothes they can move in. Climbing shoes and harnesses are provided. Playground campers need non-slip socks.

Can we book a weekly trip all summer?

Ask us. Camps that want a regular slot can plan their dates ahead with the team.
